How we met the objective

Squarebrook was appointed in 2017 to explore redevelopment options for a 1950's building situated on the historic site where the Great Fire of London began.

We reviewed alternative refurbishment proposals prepared by the client’s architects and assessed a range of potential uses for the site. Following a series of detailed appraisals, we recommended an office-led scheme, with a planning application submitted in 2023.

The new development has been carefully designed to honour the site's historic significance and contribute meaningfully to the area’s cultural heritage.
